Meet the Owners (And the “Why” Behind AMVET)
AMVET Concrete Coatings was started by Troy and his friend Mark Huseman, with the goal of helping out their local community—and the response, as they describe it, has been overwhelming.
Troy was born in 1967 in Petersburg, Illinois, and joined the Air Force straight out of high school. He served for 33 years as a jet engine mechanic and production controller, earning five Commendation Medals, two Achievement Medals, and a Meritorious Service Medal, along with an Associate’s Degree in Production Management.
After retiring from the Air Force in September 2018, Troy moved to Merritt Island, Florida and built a new home there. He still lives and works in Merritt Island with his wife, Candice, and they have three sons: Josh (33), Justin (30), and Colton (7).
